Hi guys,
Corsos do very well in weight pull, just ask of the Georgia gang! I bought a sled, but my vet advised against pulling for my guy, due to some issues. We have trained in PP, and flyball. I am still going to pull with my terrier, catahoula, and the next dogs I get. Congrats for getting out there and doing something with your dog! -------------------- SACCI Membership Director

The time commitment was the biggest shock. Even more so than the money. But so far it has been worth it.
Powerline, I am not sure where you are located in Ohio but I just "joined" a PP group in Shelby. I drive 1 1/2 hours each way. Totally worth it. Both the guys own corsos and have several other dogs. We talked about weight pulling since their corsos wouldn't hurt a flea. Feel free to email me at mbibs@hotmail.com or call 216-896-0474. I'll be home all weekend. |

Well I live in Vancouver, Canada, and there aren't many CC's around here, that I have seen. I dont have one yet, but that is my next dog. I'm torn between getting a show quality pup or rescuing. I've always believed in rescuing dogs, the one I have now I rescued 5 years ago. he's a lab/pit cross and an absolute dream to live with. I swear we have conversations with each other.
Would like to go to a show where CC's are present, but here in Canada I haven't seen anything like that. And I got told by one of the members of the CKC (who is apparently "very high up there") that CC's will NEVER be part of their club. fine with me, dont like that attitude at all. I agree with the goal to breed for the betterment of the dog, and hope to become part of that program one day. I look forward to getting to know you all... |

[b]Hello everybody,
My name is Yulia and I am originally from Russia (Siberia) but live in Dallas TX for past 10 years. If any of you received first Cane Corso Quarterly probably know little bit more about me. As of right now I own 3 Corsos. I love showing them and maybe some day after I'll finish all of them in Showing I will do some PP but as of right now I don't want to mix those two sports. My goal is to better this beautiful breed and win Westminster and Craft shows (just my dreams).b] -------------------- |

Hi I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I plan to show my little girl and am going to try and see if we can get into some working...Schtuzhund probably as there aren't many other types of clubs around here.
Kelly I sympathize with the issues with the CKC and there are many people that are of the opinion that they are only in it for the money and the attitude that you seem to have gotten from that person wouldn't lead me to want to show there either. You would have to check with someone that has more info on the club's mandates but I think that someone told me at some point that if the Corso is full recognized by the AKC that the CKC has to allow them to be show in CKC events. Like I said this is what I think that someone had mentioned but I don't remember the full story. Someone you could ask would be Byron Osing they have a Kennel in BC and they might have the most up to date info. Cane Corso are able to be show CFC and IABCA...there might be some shows like that out west that you could go and see. |

[/quote] I did see CC on a program list at one show I was at a couple of months ago, but none of the breeders were there to show, sadly. I've seen a thousand pictures of them, there is a CC/Dogo Argentinian cross I see often, but have never actually seen a live CC in person. How terrible is that! I am CC Deprived. |
